A young man’s boast about getting three girls pregnant at the same time inspired this post. Reality TV and MTV’s Teen Mom and  16 and Pregnant had so much appeal for teenagers that some became pregnant to audition for the show. Don’t Be Deceived!!!

Unusual things are happening these days in the name of God and religion. So, I want to encourage you to get to know the God of love, creator of the universe, who warned us that the anti-Christ would come. We are forewarned that the time will come when “no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six, 666 (Revelation 13:17-18).
Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world” (1 John 4:1).
The Bible states in Matthew 24:24: ” For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones.”
The Bible also warns in 2 Corinthians 11:13-14: “These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” BEWARE!!!

A Bloody History Lesson

Before the American Civil War, Abraham Lincoln said:
“A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure permanently half-slave and half-free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved – I do not expect the house to fall – but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other.” Lincoln’s ‘House-Divided’ Speech in Springfield, Illinois, June 16, 1858.

After the American Civil War (1861-1865) in which 620,000 died,
Abraham Lincoln said:
“Both parties deprecated war; but one of them would make war rather than let the nation survive; and the other would accept war rather than let it perish. And the war came.” Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address, March 4, 1865.

Given America’s history of racial strife, all our enemies will need to do is sit back and watch the nation self-destruct. Is that what we want? Hear this, you instigators of racially motivated killings! We can blame God for creating racial diversity, but we can only blame ourselves for racism. Do you realize that every human being originated from the same dust of the earth? It’s true. God exercised his supreme authority to give some humans more melanin than others because he does as he pleases. Don’t hate the people. Talk to God about it. He might tell you why he did that. But even if he doesn’t, he has already told us that we are all descendants of Adam and Eve, the first family he created (Gen 1:26-28). That means we are all kin folks. If you didn’t know, now you know.

And for the record, President Abraham Lincoln’s quote came from The Holy Bible. The truth spoken in 1858 is still relevant for today:

24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. (Mark 3:24-26).

May God bless America to become one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Amen.

Was Tupac Shakur Right About Education?

A teen once offered to BUY my classroom poster poem by Tupac Shakur. Can you believe that? I checked out other poems by 2Pac like In The Event of My Demise in which he predicted his early death, and On the topic of Education. Here’s an excerpt of what he said at age 17: “There should be a class on scams, there should be a class on religious cults, there should be a class on police brutality, there should be a class on apartheid, there should be a class on racism in America, there should be a class on why people are hungry, but there’s not, their class is on gym … Their class is like Algebra. We have yet to go to a store and say, ‘Can I have X Y + 2 and give me my Y change back, thank you.’ You know? … Like foreign languages. I think that they are important, but I don’t think it should be required. Actually, they should be teaching you English, and then teach you how to understand double talk, politician’s double talk. Not teaching you how to understand French and Spanish and GERMAN. When am I going to Germany? I can’t afford to pay my rent in America! How am I going to Germany?”

Tupac Shakur On Education: An Important Lesson On Context

Tupac came to mind as I searched for plane tickets to Germany even though I don’t speak German.

Faith in Action, A Lesson From Bill Gates

in December 1974, Paul Allen showed Gates a magazine article about the world’s first microcomputer, the Altair 8800. Seeing an opportunity, Gates and Allen called the manufacturer, MITS, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and told the president they had written a version of the popular computer language BASIC for the Altair. When he said he’d like to see it, Gates and Allen, who actually hadn’t written anything, starting working day and night in Harvard’s computer lab. Because they did not have an Altair to work on, they were forced to simulate it on other computers. When Allen flew to Albuquerque to test the program on the Altair, neither he nor Gates was sure it would run. But run it did. Gates dropped out of Harvard and moved with Allen to Albuquerque, where they officially established Microsoft.

Two Bible passages come to mind from this story:
1. He called things into existence that did not exist (Romans 4:17)
2. Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. (James 2:17)
Don’t you just love a visionary?
